cascade: Board Four
slothy: i'm watching you Angie..
AngieBB: :)
Old York: 37 kibs now
slothy->Kibitzers: yuk!
slothy: gl :)
wackojack: anyone play weak jump shifts?
slothy->Kibitzers: would love to bid 3 :)
slothy->Kibitzers: are we playing WJS Wayne?
slothy: wdp
Old York: super play Anne
AngieBB: mmm
Aacol: wd
cascade: Weak Jump Shifts are not standard ...
amms3: thx
slothy->Kibitzers: just happy i didnt pass 2NT :)
cascade: any questions?
cascade: ===========
Aacol: is 2NT correct?
cascade: it is pushy
Old York: would 3 be non-forcing?
sergiop56: or is better to double?
cascade: probably you should not bid 2NT with no club stopper
cascade: dbl is ok if it shows a strong balanced hand
amms3: what should i have bid?
cyber: what does a bid of 1 promise points wise
wackojack: do you open 1 or 1♠ in Acol?
cascade: that cannot bid NTs and cannot raise partner
Zelandakh: depends upon agreements Jack :-)
cascade: I open 1 normally
wackojack: that is why i am asking
cascade: but 1♠ is ok
wackojack: when do you not bid up-the line?
sergiop56: and over 1 do you bid 1NT or 1♠?
Aacol: what about playing a at trick 2?
cascade: I open 1 and then rebid 1NT over 1
sycade: bonjour
peerke1950: hi all
cascade: we miss our spade fit only if responder cannot try for game
Zelandakh: The official EBU line is to bid the major
wackojack: ok you are playing check back?
slothy: the official EBU line is also that you cant wear bright pink at a congress :)
sycade: je suis 4 promo et vous
Zelandakh: even the ladies?
cascade: yes i play 2♣ as checkback (even when the opening is 1♣)
slothy: thats half my wardrobe excluded :(
wackojack: thx
Old York: 4432 anything goes...your choice. :o)
slothy: apparently distracts opposition
slothy: its the transparency that distracts me not the vcolour
wackojack: how do you play double after the 2♣ intervention?
peerke1950: will whe play
cascade: over 2NT ...
peerke1950: ?
cascade: you need an agreement about what is forcing ...
slothy: i presume 3 is NF here?
peerke1950: will whe play
Aacol: p, this is a teaching table
cascade: and if you are going to respond light ...
cascade: then you might need a way to get out at the three-level
slothy: yeswell i do have
slothy: 3 card support for p
cyber: Wayne can you discuss the 1 bid.....is there an argument for passing and showing it later so p knows it is weak with length?
cascade: you need to be able to make a forcing bid in hearts too
slothy: without 3 !Ds wouldnt have bid 1
wackojack: support double or 4 spades?
slothy: ty Ann was a pleasure :)
cascade: I would respond 1
slothy: but pls next time dont wear those fuscia hot-pants ty....
smileydave->Club: 2 players needed please
cascade: this discussion is very difficult to follow
slothy: we to go?
antonette: can anybody play hehere
slothy: sorry :(
Aacol: ty Wayne
cascade: there are methods over 2NT ...
cascade: and in an established partnership you would need to discuss exactly what is forcing
cascade: There are other options too ...it is possible to play checkback over 2NT
cascade: there is also a method called Wolff sign-off which helps with very weak hands like this one
cascade: or you can play a more style
cascade: lets move on
cascade: to the last two boards
cascade: thanks for playing
slothy: ty
cascade: can the next players sit please
